Congratulations World! I saw this week, on Tuesday, we passed 20 million cases of CoronaVirus! Texas has over 500 thousand of those cases. When will we learn that social distancing is crucial and not a joke?
I must admit this pandemic has caused me to see some things I never thought I would ever see. For instance, I bought gas several weeks ago at Costco for $1.45 a gallon! With the 4% cash-back at the end of the year that makes the gas $1.39 a gallon. I checked last week and it was $1.35 a gallon making it $1.27 a gallon with the discount. I saw traffic on I-45 going into downtown Houston during rush hour at 7:30 am on a weekday. That traffic was lighter than 3 am traffic on a weekday night.
I’ve learned that wearing a mask while wearing glasses causes my glasses to fog up significantly when I exhale. It is very difficult to open my shopping app on my phone in the grocery store while wearing gloves. I know that Apple Software engineers need to fix my iPhone. It will not open using facial recognition while I’m wearing my mask and it is much warmer on a hot day wearing a mask than it is without one.
This is a very strange time we are living in right now. My wife and I talk about how it seems surreal. We joke about how it is like the movie Groundhog Day, where every day was a repeat, waking to Sonny and Cher singing on the radio.
All joking aside, there is much sorrow and pain right now and many people hurting.
When I wrote my last blog on Wednesday, Mar 25, 2020, the number of Houston-area CoronaVirus cases was 291, with 2 deaths and 21 recoveries. As of today Aug 16, 2020, the number of CoronaVirus cases is 141,667, with 1,658 deaths and 82,925 recoveries. What a difference just under five months makes!

Since then God has prompted our prayer group to pray for frontline responders, for those sick with the virus, for people that don’t know about God’s healing power, and those who don’t believe that His healing power is still for today.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
We all need to reexamine our ways and turn from anything that God shows us that we need to turn from and SEEK HIS FACE AND LOVING KINDNESS!
All the supposed people in the know are continually announcing further despair and terrible increasing numbers for the cases of CoronaVirus infections and deaths. One family in the news reported their father passing with the virus and now 28 other family members infected with the disease. We DO NOT want increasing numbers nor do we receive that prediction or forecast.
Psalm 33:10-12 (KJV)
10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
11 The counsel of the Lord standeth forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He hath chosen for his own inheritance.
We want verse 10…counsel of the heathen to naught: (and for God to) maketh the devices of the people of none effect!
We have to bring statements like the one’s President Trump and New York’s Governor Cuomo made to no effect. When NY finally turned the corner and their numbers dropped some, the governor made the statement that God had nothing to do with that, New Yorkers did it!
We must keep our faith and words in Him.
Romans 4:17 (KJV)
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
That’s what we must do, call those things which be not as though they were.
That’s FAITH!
God says in Psalm 81:10 (KJV) – 10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
He needs our voices. We MUST pray for the sick and curse COVID-19.

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord.
John 11:25-26 (KJV)
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?
1 Corinthians 15:21 (KJV)
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
The key is what’s in our spirit and coming out of our mouths, but you do have to open your mouth and speak God’s Word. The Earth is a Word planet. It was created with the Word of God. The Word of God will stop this pandemic. We need to be the voice for these people who are unable to cry out. God needs our voice to be speaking out and claiming positive scriptures.
